The POS terminal remains one of the most under-modernized pieces of technology in retail. Many checkout environments are still built on architecture dating back to the early 2000s, while customer expectations have evolved dramatically.

Over the past two decades, I’ve spent much of my career helping retailers modernize complex technology environments, most recently as CIO of WHSmith North America, supporting more than 350 locations, and previously in senior technology leadership roles with Fast Retailing / UNIQLO, SoftBank Robotics, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Deloitte.

So I’m excited to share that I’ve joined MishiPay as a Strategic Advisor, working with Mustafa Khanwala and the team in an advisory capacity on US market growth, positioning, and engagement with retailers as they rethink checkout and modernize legacy POS environments.

What drew me to MishiPay is the pragmatism of the approach. Retailers shouldn’t have to rip out their entire POS estate simply to deliver a more modern checkout experience.

That challenge is very real across retail today, and I think there is a significant opportunity to help organizations modernize incrementally while protecting the investments they’ve already made.

If you’re a retail executive or technology leader thinking about the future of checkout, modernizing a legacy POS environment, or simply trying to remove POS constraints from your roadmap, we’d welcome the conversation.
