I am a technology executive, business leader, and lifelong learner whose career has been shaped by curiosity, global experience, and a willingness to take on complex challenges.
For more than twenty years, I have led technology organizations and transformation initiatives across the United States, Asia, and Europe. My work has taken me through global enterprises, high-growth businesses, entrepreneurial ventures, and organizations navigating significant operational and technological change.
Across those environments, I have remained focused on one principle: technology creates its greatest value when it is closely connected to business strategy, people, and execution.
A Global Path
I was born and raised in Southern California and graduated from California State University, Fullerton. Early in my career, I moved to Japan in search of a new challenge. I was young, ambitious, and uncertain where the decision would lead, but it became one of the most formative experiences of my life.
Living and working internationally taught me how to lead across cultures, listen before acting, and adapt without losing sight of the objective. That experience became the foundation for a global career spanning North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
Along the way, I have had the opportunity to work with remarkable people and organizations, including SoftBank Robotics, Deloitte, Fast Retailing, Abercrombie & Fitch, Woven by Toyota, Apple, Wells Fargo, and The Walt Disney Company. Each chapter broadened my perspective on leadership, transformation, customer experience, and the realities of operating at scale.
A Builder at Heart
My interest in technology began when I was nine years old and my mother brought home an IBM 5150. I taught myself to code using the IBM BASIC manual and became fascinated by the ability to create something useful from an idea.
That instinct to build has stayed with me. Early in my career, I started an IT services company focused on infrastructure, application development, web platforms, and technology support, and later operated a web-hosting business. Some ventures succeeded, others became valuable learning experiences, and all helped shape the practical, hands-on leader I am today.
Later, I created YoNinja.com, an online travel guide and user community built around discovering and sharing authentic experiences in Japan and beyond. The project brought together several of my interests—technology, travel, community, and entrepreneurship—and gave me another opportunity to turn an idea into a lasting digital platform and community.
Although my career has grown into enterprise and executive leadership, I still approach technology with a builder’s curiosity. I enjoy understanding how things work, asking difficult questions, and turning complexity into a clear and executable path forward.
Beyond Work
Outside of work, I am happiest near the ocean, in the mountains, or exploring somewhere new with my family. I enjoy fishing, hiking, snorkeling, photography, and discovering memorable food along the way.
Travel has been one of the great privileges of my life. My wife and I have visited more than forty countries, and I return to Japan often. Food is an important part of how we experience a place, and I enjoy finding exceptional restaurants and sharing those discoveries with others.
That shared interest also became a creative project. I used my technology background to help my wife build Eat With Ohashi, an online food blog where she shares recipes and our mutual love of food. It has been a rewarding way to combine technology, creativity, and something we genuinely enjoy together.
Leadership Perspective
I believe effective leadership requires equal measures of curiosity, clarity, humility, and accountability. The best leaders create an environment in which people understand the objective, feel trusted to contribute, and are equipped to turn strategy into results.
My personal philosophy is simple: keep learning, remain open to new perspectives, and never become too removed from the work to understand what it takes to deliver.
