Welcome to my website. I’m glad you are here, and I hope you enjoy learning a bit about my background and the experiences that shaped who I am today.

I created this site to share ideas, lessons learned, and perspectives from more than twenty years in global technology and business leadership roles. When time allows, I enjoy writing about topics that intersect technology, retail, leadership, and digital transformation.

I was born and raised in Southern California and later graduated from California State University, Fullerton. Shortly after, I moved to Japan in search of a new challenge. I was young, curious, and ambitious, and had no idea where that decision would take me. That journey led to a global career across the United States, Asia, and Europe, primarily with large US and Japanese enterprises.

I’ve been fortunate to work with remarkable people and teams at companies such as SoftBank Robotics, Deloitte, Abercrombie and Fitch, Fast Retailing (Uniqlo, GU, Theory, J Brand), Woven by Toyota, Apple, Wells Fargo, The Walt Disney Company, and most recently WHSmith North America.

Early in my career, I also started several companies of my own. I built an IT services business that focused on web design, SEO strategy, infrastructure implementations, application development, and SMB technology support. I later operated a web hosting business. Some ventures were successful, others were learning experiences, and all contributed to the leader I am today.

Across every chapter, I have been driven by an appetite for learning and a desire to solve meaningful problems. I see myself as equal parts technologist and business strategist.

My curiosity for technology started early. When I was nine, my mother brought home an IBM 5150 from work. I spent countless hours reading the IBM BASIC manual and teaching myself how to code. That early exposure sparked a lifelong passion for technology and the art of building things.

Those were the days of 5.25-inch floppy disks with just over a megabyte of storage. Today, we casually carry smartphones with more computing power than some of the earliest servers I worked on. Technology has come a long way, and I’ve always been fascinated by its pace, its impact, and its potential.

I’ve always felt at home near the beach or in the mountains, which is probably the Californian in me. Summers typically include fishing, tide pools, snorkeling, or simply spending time by the water with my family. Winters are often spent traveling to warmer places or visiting the mountains or desert for hiking, fishing, and photography.

Travel is one of my greatest passions. My wife and I love exploring new places and new foods, and I’ve been fortunate to visit more than forty countries across Europe, Asia, North America, and parts of Central and South America and the Middle East. I’m always planning the next trip and looking for the next unforgettable meal.

When possible, I enjoy teaching and sharing knowledge. This site gives me a place to do that, and I hope the content inspires others to stay curious. I’m a fan of platforms like TED and Khan Academy, which make learning accessible to everyone.

I believe that continuous learning is the foundation for growth. My personal motto is simple: Never stop learning, challenge yourself daily, strive to achieve the unachievable, and live a life of continuous improvement.

I aim to excel at everything I commit to. I’m naturally driven and have always been energized by complex environments and opportunities to improve systems, teams, and processes. Each year, I set a new personal goal to reinforce the belief that with focused effort and time, anything is achievable.

I try to share my experiences through this website, on LinkedIn, and through real-world interactions. I never view a challenge as unattainable. With dedication and persistence, anyone can reach their goals, no matter how distant they may seem. Believe in yourself. Keep improving. Be a lifelong learner. You can achieve more than you think.
