Amazing! The next few years are going to be incredibly exciting. We are only at the starting line of the AI revolution, and the way we work, learn, and solve problems is about to change permanently. The skills required for many jobs today will be very different in just a few years. Check out the video below. It is mind blowing.

I have been following Sal Khan since 2009, back when he was producing educational videos on YouTube after making the bold decision to leave his hedge fund career. I was also an early user and advocate of the first Khan Academy iOS app in 2012. I used to pick a random topic each night and watch a lesson before going to bed. Even though many of the lessons were geared toward students, his teaching style was so clear and engaging that you found yourself relearning things simply because it was enjoyable. I was especially drawn to his history content and financial literacy videos, including his classic rent versus buy analysis.

At one point, the Khan Academy web team even asked me to record a video testimonial. I never found the time to respond, and I still regret that. So here I am now, sharing just how much I appreciate what Sal and his team have accomplished.

Sal Khan has profoundly changed education by giving people around the world access to high-quality learning and empowering them with knowledge. Khan Academy’s mission is to provide a free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere. If you are not familiar with Sal’s story, look him up. His impact is extraordinary.

I am excited to see how he integrates ChatGPT and OpenAI’s technology into the platform. Sal, if you ever see this, thank you for the incredible work you continue to do.

If you are like me, you enjoy learning, staying curious, and challenging yourself. That is why I continue to admire the work being done by Khan Academy. Their mission is ambitious and inspiring: free education for everyone. I was invited some time ago to record a video testimonial for their site, and although I have not had the chance to do it yet, I want to help spread the word here.

All students need is access to a computer and the Internet. Khan Academy has even partnered with the College Board to provide free SAT preparation so that every student has an equal opportunity to study and succeed. You can read more about their partnership here: http://ow.ly/uhbqE. Education should never be limited by someone’s financial situation.

The movement toward open learning has been strengthened by companies like Google and many universities that are making world class courses available to the public. One of the best platforms is Coursera.org, which hosts classes from Yale, USC, UC Irvine, the University of London, and many others. Their mobile apps make it easy to watch lectures, complete coursework, and take exams on the go. The idea that anyone can take a Yale University course for free is an incredible step forward.

Here are a few additional resources worth exploring:

Happy learning.

There has been an incredible rise in free online education platforms in recent years, and it is encouraging to see how accessible learning has become. While access to a computer and the Internet is still a requirement, connectivity continues to expand, even in developing regions. Five years ago, the idea of taking a free cryptography course from Stanford would have sounded impossible. Today, it is a reality for anyone with an Internet connection.

Below are a few platforms I have personally used or explored. Each offers high quality courses across a wide range of subjects. Khan Academy remains one of my favorites. It takes a different approach from traditional classroom formats, but the clarity of the instruction is outstanding. The breadth of topics covered is impressive and the teaching style makes even complex subjects easy to understand.

Here are some great places to start:

https://www.udacity.com/
https://www.khanacademy.org/
https://novoed.com/
https://www.coursera.org/
http://online.stanford.edu/courses

Enjoy exploring and learning.
